6. Use of Technological Tools and Cookies

6.1Upon access to and use of the Firm's websites, the Firm may use various technological tools that collect data automatically, such as "cookies", for various purposes, including the proper operation of the website and its security, improving the browsing experience on the website and adapting it to your personal preferences, collecting statistical data about the use of the website, saving the client's preferences and the like. Cookies are small text files that are stored by the Firm's server in the memory of the client's computer, device or browser. These tools may include the automatic collection of data, including Personal Data, such as online identifiers and device and usage data.

6.2The Firm uses technological tools of third parties for the purpose of measuring the use of the website, analyzing the user experience, operation and security. As of the date of the update of this Privacy Policy, the website has no paid advertising tools, social network pixels or personalized advertising on behalf of third parties. In addition, certain software components on the website, and the fonts in which the website is displayed (Google Fonts, provided by Google LLC), are loaded from content delivery networks (CDN) of third parties, and in that framework the IP address of your device is exposed to the CDN provider. It is clarified that the use that these third parties make of the data and of the cookies is subject to their privacy policies, and it is therefore recommended to review them.

6.3Among other things, the Firm uses tools such as cookies and/or similar technological tools, including of third parties, as follows:

6.3.1Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation). Purpose of use: analyzing the manner of use of the website, including recording browsing sessions and mapping clicks and scrolling (heatmaps), for the purpose of improving the website and the user experience. Microsoft Clarity is loaded only after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner; if you click "Decline" or do not respond to the banner, it is not loaded at all. The English legal department page (lawyer-it.com/legal-department/) does not load Microsoft Clarity. Privacy policy: for more information about the manner in which Microsoft uses data, it is recommended to review the Microsoft privacy statement at: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement

6.3.2Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.). Purpose of use: measuring traffic and performance on the website for the purpose of its operation, security and improvement. The tool does not use cookies, is not used for advertising and does not create a marketing profile. Privacy policy: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

6.3.3The Firm's own measurement system (based on the services of Supabase, Inc.). Purpose of use: collecting aggregate usage data, namely the page viewed, the referring source, the browser language and the type of device, for the purpose of understanding the use of the website. The measurement does not use cookies and does not store any information on your device. To count unique visits within a single day, the system creates a pseudonymous identifier by applying a one-way cryptographic hash function to your IP address and your browser's user agent together with a secret random value (salt) that is replaced every day. Your IP address itself is discarded and is not stored. Because the secret value is replaced daily, the identifier is not intended to, and is not used to, identify you or to link your visits across different days. The identifier constitutes pseudonymous data, and we treat it as Personal Data wherever the law so requires. The data is stored and processed for us by Supabase, Inc. as a holder (processor) on behalf of the Firm. For more information: https://supabase.com/privacy

6.3.4Website chatbot (operated by the Firm through Supabase, Inc., powered by Anthropic). The chatbot stores in your browser's local storage (localStorage) a random session identifier that groups the messages of a single conversation, and does not place advertising or third-party cookies. The content of the conversation is processed as described in Section 7.4.

6.3.5Links to third-party services. The website includes links that open services of third parties: a WhatsApp click-to-chat link (WhatsApp, a service of Meta Platforms) on some pages, and the Cal.com booking platform for scheduling an introductory call. These services are not loaded on the website itself and do not place cookies through it; once you click on a link, you move to the service of the third party, and the processing of your data there, including the use of cookies, is subject to the terms and the privacy policy of that third party.

Full details of each technology, including the storage used, its duration and whether consent is required, appear in our Cookie Policy at https://lawyer-it.com/legal/cookies/.

Stopping the collection of data by "cookies" (opt-out):

Upon entering the website, a banner is displayed that allows you to express your position regarding the use of cookies and measurement tools that are not essential for the operation of the website. Your choice is saved in the browser's local storage (localStorage) and may be changed at any time by clearing the website's data in the browser.

The settings of every browser include an option to delete existing cookies. To learn how to manage your preferences regarding the use of cookies, we recommend reviewing the instructions in your browser. Please note that deleting cookies may cause some of the services on the website to be unavailable and/or the experience of using the website to be limited. Notwithstanding the above, cookies that are essential and necessary for the operation and management of the website cannot be disabled.

In addition, it is possible to limit the use of certain collection technologies by changing the settings in the browser. For more information about managing cookies in the Chrome browser, see the following link: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647

7. Artificial Intelligence

7.1We may, and are entitled to, make use of the Personal Data as detailed in the Privacy Policy by means of machines and artificial intelligence tools ("Artificial Intelligence") for the purpose of achieving the Firm's purposes, including for the purpose of managing and providing the Services; operating and handling your requests; marketing, statistical and business needs; and providing other ancillary services, subject to any law. The use of Artificial Intelligence technologies may also serve to improve and enhance processes and products in the Firm, and to produce insights based on variables of existing and potential clients, including data that does not directly identify the client.

7.2The use of Artificial Intelligence technologies will be made in accordance with the provisions of law. In cases where there will be direct interaction with an Artificial Intelligence technology, to the extent required in accordance with the provisions of law, we will act to inform you, and the use of that tool will be subject to the Privacy Policy.

7.3To the extent that the Personal Data or the business information includes information protected by a duty of professional confidentiality or by attorney-client privilege, the use of Artificial Intelligence tools will be made only in tools that have been examined in advance by the Firm and subject to contractual arrangements with the providers of the tools that restrict the use of the information, including in respect of the training of models.

7.4The website chatbot. The website chatbot is an Artificial Intelligence tool that provides general information only and does not provide legal advice. When you use it, you interact directly with Artificial Intelligence and not with a lawyer. The chatbot is powered by the Claude model of Anthropic, and operates through the Firm's backend systems hosted by Supabase, Inc. The messages that you type are transferred through those systems to Anthropic for the purpose of generating the answer, and Anthropic processes them as a service provider (processor) on behalf of the Firm. As stated in Section 3.7, please do not enter into the chatbot Personal Data, Data of Special Sensitivity or confidential information.

7.5The AI legal department service. In the framework of the AI legal department service, Artificial Intelligence tools are used by the Firm's lawyers and under their supervision, for reviewing and drafting documents. Every output is reviewed, edited and approved by a Lawyerit lawyer before it reaches the client, and the legal service and the responsibility for it are those of the Firm. Artificial Intelligence tools do not give legal advice on their own, and no decision that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you is made on the basis of automated processing alone, within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR.

8. Transfer of Data to Third Parties

We may grant access to, or transfer, the Personal Data to third parties, as follows:

8.1To lawyers, interns and compliance personnel acting on behalf of the Firm, as well as to external lawyers and experts assisting us in the provision of the Services, all subject to a duty of professional confidentiality;

8.2To our professional advisors and to external service providers that provide us with various services in connection with our activity, including, among others, support and maintenance services for security systems and information technology (IT) systems, data storage services and cloud services, website building services, printing services, survey services, companies that provide advertising and marketing services, browsing behavior monitoring services, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, mailing and communication systems, customer service centers, communication providers, lawyers, accountants and other external professional advisors, including storage, cloud and website infrastructure providers (including Vercel, Inc. and Supabase, Inc.), the provider of Artificial Intelligence services for the website chatbot (Anthropic), the provider of the website fonts (Google LLC, through Google Fonts), the provider of the website usage analysis (Microsoft Clarity, only if you have consented to it), and the meeting scheduling platform (Cal.com), all for the purpose of the receipt of the said services by the Firm and for the purpose of providing the Services to you;

8.3In the event of a merger, sale of activity, change of structure or transfer of the Firm's activity, in whole or in part, to another party, and subject to the provisions of this Privacy Policy and the professional obligations that apply to the Firm applying to the acquiring party;

8.4With your consent and approval;

8.5In accordance with the requirements of any law and/or competent authority, as well as for the purpose of managing a legal or pre-legal proceeding and protecting the legitimate interests of the Firm.

8.6When you choose to contact us through WhatsApp or to schedule a call through Cal.com, the providers of those services may also process your data as independent controllers, in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies, for which the Firm is not responsible.

9. Information Security and Transfer of Data Outside Israel

9.1The Firm takes information security measures appropriate to the data in its possession, in accordance with the laws and provisions that apply to it in this regard. Among other things, the Firm takes physical and electronic protection measures that conform with accepted standards. While the information security systems and procedures that the Firm implements reduce the risks of unauthorized intrusion into its servers, absolute protection cannot be provided. Therefore, the Firm does not undertake that the servers will be absolutely immune from unauthorized access to the data stored in them. Subject to any mandatory provision of law, the Firm will not bear any liability in cases of disclosure and use of the said data resulting from unauthorized intrusions by others.

9.2In addition, the Firm may process or store data both in Israel and outside Israel. The client hereby confirms that, by the very use of the Services, his or her data may be transferred, stored and processed on the Firm's servers and/or by providers and business partners outside the State of Israel. The transfer of the data will be made in accordance with the provisions of applicable law.

9.3International transfers under the GDPR and the UK GDPR. The Firm is established in Israel. The European Commission has recognized the State of Israel as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, and the United Kingdom recognizes Israel as adequate as well, so the transfer of Personal Data from the European Union or the United Kingdom to the Firm in Israel relies on those adequacy decisions. Where Personal Data is transferred onward to service providers in countries that are not recognized as adequate, including the United States, the transfer is made on the basis of the certification of the service provider under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) where the provider is so certified, or on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (and the UK addendum), together with supplementary measures where required. You may request information about the safeguards applied, and a copy of them, by contacting us at the address in Section 2.

10. Retention of Data

10.1We will retain the Personal Data for the period of time required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purpose of fulfilling the obligations imposed on us by law, including documentation and reporting obligations. In order to determine the appropriate period of time for retaining the Personal Data, we will consider, among other things, the purpose of its collection, its scope, its nature, its sensitivity, the risk that may be caused by unauthorized access to the Personal Data, and the period of time during which we may need the Personal Data for the purpose of complying with the requirements of law or for the purpose of managing legal proceedings and/or in accordance with the Firm's internal procedures.

10.2Without derogating from the above: the Personal Data is retained for a period of seven (7) years, unless a longer period is required, including for the purpose of risk management, the management of legal proceedings or under any law; recordings and heatmaps of Microsoft Clarity are retained in accordance with Microsoft's retention periods for that service; and your cookie choice and the other values stored in your browser's local storage remain on your device until you clear the website's data.

11. Professional Confidentiality and Attorney-Client Privilege

Information provided to us in the framework of an attorney-client relationship is subject to a duty of professional confidentiality and to privilege under the Israel Bar Association Law, 5721-1961 and the Rules of Professional Ethics enacted under it, in parallel with the provisions of the Privacy Protection Law and the provisions of this Privacy Policy. In any case of inconsistency between the arrangements, the provisions that grant broader protection to the data will apply. Nothing in this Privacy Policy derogates from the right or the duty of the Firm to maintain privilege or to refuse to provide privileged information.

12. No Liability

Without derogating from the provisions of this Privacy Policy, and subject to any mandatory provision of law, the Firm and anyone on its behalf will not bear any liability or responsibility in connection with any damage, loss or expense, of any kind and type whatsoever, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, which was caused and/or will be caused to Users and/or to a third party, in all matters relating to and concerning service providers, including the collection of data by them, its use, its transfer to third parties, its retention and its security.

The website may include links, hyperlinks or banners to websites and services of third parties that are not operated by us. These websites and services are not under our control, and we do not check their content, their security or their privacy policies. The use of these links is at your responsibility, and is subject to the terms and privacy policies of those third parties. Subject to any mandatory provision of law, we will not bear liability for any action or damage in connection with these websites and services, including the collection, use or transfer of data by them.

14. Protection of the Rights of Third Parties

Anyone who provides Personal Data about a third party declares that he or she does so lawfully and with authority, and only after receiving the express prior consent of that third party to the provision of the data about him or her to the Firm and to its processing by the Firm, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, or where another lawful basis for such provision exists under applicable law. The provision of Personal Data about third parties without their consent, or without another lawful basis as aforesaid, constitutes a breach of this Privacy Policy.
